This past Friday I enjoyed an evening out in the Seminole Heights area at the Tampa Bay Etsy Craft Party with one of my best girlfriends and fellow craft enthusiast, Donea. We got there slightly after it started and were part of the first 100 guests so we each became the proud owner of a pretty sweet tote bag filled with swag from different shops. (Did I mention how I’m a huge sucker for free stuff?!) I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the amount of give-a-ways they included and I now have a few new Etsy shops to start stalking. That’s right, I’m the crazy chick that added you all on Instagram Friday night.
In my previous post, I had mentioned the importance of finding out if the venue hosting this event would be indoors or outdoors and for the love of all things good, I’m glad we did. Tampa location was outdoors for the most part. We had a little escape from the sun here and there, but my God I was shmutzin’ like a pudding at a picnic! Hence, there only being one picture of me – because, trust me, nobody wants to see that. Despite the heat we had a great time exploring different shops, getting to know some of the shop owners and even got to check out some craft demos and make our own fabric covered button earrings and magnets.
Here are a few of the brands that stole my heart. Great customer service and loved the booth set up each of them had. If you’re looking for a few new places to pick up some handmade goodies, click on the link below each picture to check out their shop.
What I love the most about events like this is that you not only get to see amazing handmade items but get to meet the shop owners and see the pride they have in their product. There is such support in the Etsy community and I always leave feeling really inspired and ready to work on something of my own.
Huge shout out to the TBEC and all the hard work they did to put together this event! Definitely looking forward to next year’s party.
